Scope and Contents
Series comprises biographical data, newspaper clippings, correspondence, press releases, promotional material, magazine and newspaper articles, reports, travel itineraries, book releases, and personal records pertaining to Sarah McClendon from the 1920s to 2003 (the year of McClendon’s death). Key locations include Tyler, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Ireland. The bulk of this series was compiled before World War II and during the 1980s. Item level and folder level arrangement for Sub-Series A reflects original order. The folders in Sub-Series B were added to the collection after the original accession; order was imposed during processing.
