This series includes textual correspondence from 1930 to the mid-1990s. Additional materials include newspaper clippings, newsletters, business cards, holiday cards, and invitations. Correspondence comprises personal (primarily family and friends in Texas), professional (journalism peers, editors, television and radio personalities, Congressmen, Texans in D.C., and White House staff including Presidents, Vice-Presidents, and First ladies), and fan responses (both positive and negative). Significant selections include responses to Sarah McClendon’s questions at Presidential Press Conferences (namely George H.W. Bush in Nov 1990, and Ronald Reagan in August 1982).
