    Founded in 1915 the Association of American University Professors is an organization that works to secure academic freedom and shared governance. Dr. Martin joined the AAUP in 1993. He served on the special committee on Distance Education and Intellectual Property Issues as well as the subcommittee on the Use of Technology in Teaching. Martin continued his crusade to protect faculty intellectual property rights by helping to draft "Distance Learning: Strategic Responses from a Faculty Perspective." Martin published articles in AAUP newsletters on distance education and intellectual property rights as well as provided presentations to AAUP conferences. This series contains correspondence and memoranda, and newsletters, periodicals, and articles concerning distance education and intellectual property rights. In addition there travel receipts and materials obtained at various AAUP conferences. Dates of the materials range from 1992 to 2002.
